Classes
Judo and Jujitsu classes are held on Wednesdays & Fridays 6:30 - 8:30pm at Leonard Recreation Center of Greensboro.
Classes in all arts are run parallel, or may be staggered, depending on attendance. Judo classes are open to ages 8 years and up (Male and Female). Aiki-Jitsu classes are open to ages 18 years and up (Male and Female).
Instructors(Sensei)
- Mr. Barry Siegal, 2nd Dan (Nidan) - Judo
- Mr. Dennis Jones, 2nd Dan (Nidan) - Judo
Sensei Siegal started Judo in 1962 and competed collegiately in various tournaments throughout the East Coast. He also coached at the college level and joined the Greensboro Judo Club in 1995. Sensei Siegal holds a PH. D in Geology from the Penn State University.
Sensei Jones started Judo on Guam in 1969. While in the US Army, he practiced and competed in various places such as Guam, Germany and the United States.
Visiting Instructor (Sensei)
- Mr. Roger Rodolphe, 7th Dan (Shichidan)-Judo and Jujitsu, 3rd Dan (Sandan) - Aikido. Mr. Rodolphe is a former European and North Carolina Judo Champion with over 50 years of international experience in the martial arts. He also has a black belt in Aikido since 1957. He is the founder of the Greensboro Judo Club.
Fees
For beginners: $60 for a one-month beginners course, thereafter $20/month.
For advanced students: $20/month
Our beginners courses are designed to introduce and teach you a combination of judo, jujitsu and aikido techniques. Included are break-falls, throwing, take downs, grappling, escapes, striking plus chokes and armbars for members 16+. This combined knowledge gives you the foundation and basic skills needed to continue later in the art of your choice.

Additional Expenses for the Advanced Classes
- Cost of "Gi" (uniform) $30-50, depending on size needed.
A must for the advanced classes. - National Federation Membership $40/year.
A must for national and international rank registration & recognition. - Promotion fee $20/each. Members are usually eligible every six months, assuming 2-3 practices/week.
